HORTUS Fact #6 – Building Tomorrow
Future Projects & Development
HORTUS is just the beginning. SENN’s future projects carry forward the same ambition for sustainability and architectural excellence, and incorporate the 6 Positives. The upcoming buildings will be certified SNBS Platinum, LEED Platinum, and Minergie-A. Rainwater is utilized like in HORTUS, the biotope area factor is maximized where ever possible, operational energy consumption will be nearly one-third below SIA 2024 standards, and operational CO₂ emissions will be reduced to zero (ALL). Optimized concrete saves hundreds of tons of CO₂, and photovoltaic systems generate huge amounts of energy, far exceeding the buildings’ own needs.
These projects are not isolated experiments but part of an expanding ecosystem—each learning from the others, each pushing low-carbon construction and user-focused design.
With HORTUS as a proof of concept, SENN is positioning itself at the forefront of a movement: Buildings that are economically viable, socially enriching, and environmentally regenerative, setting a benchmark for the next generation of urban development.
